LIFE xx Pouya & Rocci

LIFE xx Pouya & Rocci

A mental illness animation
Drowning in misery but calling for help on the other side
Based on underground rapper Pouya's song "Life" that was turned into a ten minute movie. I wanted the animation to be him drowning like in the video to get a real feel of the message.

PLANET EARTH ABOUT TO BE RECYLED

PLANET EARTH ABOUT TO BE RECYCLED: The evolution of becoming one within your own mind, leaving the toxic cells to die and rebirthing of new life organisms. Planet Earth is full of discarded matter splattered throughout what is suppose to be a unity but rather a segregation of monsters. Earth is as fragile as our brains. What we must allow to grow is our soul, mind, and destiny. We must let our mind evolve. We must create peace amongst ourselves to bring peace as a whole to the world. This is an animation of becoming disconnected but growing through the dark within the light. The disconnection allows the mind to feel separated from our ego, while absorbing the rich nature of pureness. It is what lies between us and reality, pulling yourself out and drowning inside of it.

Audio: L$D: ASAP ROCKY

Process: I created a collage based on an image in my head of growing the mind with the creation of organisms, life, creation, light, water plants. I wanted each photo within to move slowly the whole time, gradually changing the image without even noticing. My animation needs to be played multiple times to truly see each image moving and evolving over time. I used a lot of the puppet tool, position, scales, rotation, and liquify. I think this animation is beautiful and comes to life.

Women are Beautiful

Women are beautiful
Garry Winogrand

I enjoyed the series of "Women are Beautiful," by Gary Winogrand. Women are always misjudged or portrayed a certain type of way and I feel that the series brought life to women not being judged and in their own pure moment of bliss. The images captured were uniquely unposed and the natural form of a woman looking beautiful.

Most of the series were all caught off guard, some seemed in action or in natural habitat, it made it more surreal to see the emotion of a woman face going throughout their night/at a party. The technique of taking multiple pictures of women and putting them together to see their emotion, body language and appearance is a beautiful thing. Especially making the entire series black and white is powerful. Everyday woman are judged on their appearance and deal with insecurities we shouldn't have to, in order to prove something to others. I wouldn't change anything about his work, each photo gave me a vintage vibe and felt real. It's easier to connect to a person in a photograph when you can feel or sense where they are, how they feel, and what their doing. One I really enjoyed most was the girl lighting the guys cigarette, so simple but empowering. She doesn't seem to care she's lighting his cigarette and it portrays a natural bond between their body language and how she is looking at him. She doesn't seem bothered or seem judged that it's "unladylike," it expresses a very relaxed, soft photograph, even when surrounded by all black and darkness, their captured in light of the night and moment. The picture of the blonde lady with the white dress caught my eye because it reminded me of Marilyn Monroe and Ashley Nicole Smith. Marilyn Monroe is my biggest inspiration, and corresponds to a women who was always misjudged in her world between beauty and success. This photograph is a perfect reference to what a Bombshell was seen as. I love how much in the photo, she looks elegant but promiscuous, and mysterious.  The lady with the huge white feathers is very uplifting, like she as an angel but also revealing her sexual side.

Deconstruction of Form

DECONSTRUCTION OF FORM -

Forgetting who you are is part of the journey of remembering who you are, your most true self. The creation of your purest form. Laying there imagining what life was like before. Before the ego, before the destruction of madness. Deep inside your dreams you lie forgetting the pain of the after life, your dream awaits for the deconstruction of who you’ve made feel alive. Black splattered on the soul that once shed light, a dream ahead that will shine soon bright.

Experimental Aspect: Mixed Media Collage, burnt , painted, distorted

Blood On The Leaves

For my process, I took belongings from my room. I had little aliens I wanted to put in a circle and cut out the letters FTP. The one with the head and then other head with hands coming out of it are drawings that I cut out, along with the shadow of a knife I also made. The other one is a sticker from my logo AK47. My theme of this project was raising awareness through the sun. Between guns, knifes, aliens I wanted to spark an awareness to the population. As far as the process I would let my paper sit on sun then wait a little and then dip into water to return to the blue background
