Blood On The Leaves

For my process, I took belongings from my room. I had little aliens I wanted to put in a circle and cut out the letters FTP. The one with the head and then other head with hands coming out of it are drawings that I cut out, along with the shadow of a knife I also made. The other one is a sticker from my logo AK47. My theme of this project was raising awareness through the sun. Between guns, knifes, aliens I wanted to spark an awareness to the population. As far as the process I would let my paper sit on sun then wait a little and then dip into water to return to the blue background

Ride or Die

I chose to photograph people skate boarding because I wanted to capture people in the moment of doing something but having true passion during it. It was beautiful to capture these random people in the air doing tricks. The focus in their faces, smooth movement and sweat poured into their passion. Skate boarding has been around for years but Bro Bowl is a historic skateparks from the 1970s and landmark. Bro Bowl is notorious for being the only skatepark to be in it’s true original form since 1978. Seeing people do what they love and capturing that pure moment of bliss is everything to me.

About Me

Hi!! I'm Anissa Kostulas, I'm from a small town in New York. Art has always been a part of me, so I try my best to engage in activities or classes that involve it. Throughout my life I have always taken pictures whether it was from my phone, an old camera, and then finally my own cannon camera. I seem to find beauty in something that could look like garbage to someone else. My eyes seem to catch the beauty of everything and everyone. I enjoy taking pictures of people, places, at concerts, just a walk around somewhere random. I hope to continue taking photos all my life. Previously last year I took a digital photography class, which I was able to take photos and build my creativity upon them. I express my self through art, makeup, how I dress, my hair. I love playing the role of someone else as well in my photos. I'm excited for this class to continue my photography journey, excel all my photos and build my portfolio as well. Learning about photography is so intriguing because it's all about the lighting and how you create you're image through the lenses of your own eyes.
